Grants / important information

Bursaries are available to attend to the First Panafrican Conference of Crystallography at Dschang. The aim is to broaden the knowledge of the awardees and enable them to establish professional contacts with African and non-African scientists. The deadline is April 15th 2016 and the decisions will be communicated before may 16th 2016.

IMPORTANT !!! Please note that applicants should make the payment of the registration fees after the decision about their application. They will pay only the remaining amount of the registration fees which will be indicated by the system after subtracting the grant cover.

1. Bursaries for PhD students

This grant may fully or partly cover the registration fees in 1 * hotel and the travelling expenses. Age and position of the applicant, country where the applicant comes from, quality of the work presented (oral/poster) are some criteria which will be taken into account. For members of Cameroonian Crystallography Association, a reduction of 50 euros will be made from their registration fees and they can also apply for this bursary. The documents required for this bursary are attached in the website during application. These documents include:

a) Curriculum vitae containing the list of publications

b) Recommendation letter from Supervisor

c) Letter of motivation for bursary application which will include the amount requested

d) Abstract of the presentation

e) An estimation of the traveling expenses prepared by a traveling agency

2. Bursaries for young scientists and postdoctorate

This grant covers a part or a whole of the travelling expenses of scientists under 40 years to enable them to attend to the conference. For members of Cameroonian Crystallography Association, a reduction of 50 euros will be made from their registration fees and they can also apply for this bursary. Applicants must apply for an oral presentation. The documents required for this bursary will be attached in the website during application. These documents include:

a) Curriculum vitae containing the list of publications

b) Recommendation letter from the Head of the Department/Group or a senior scientist.

c) Letter of motivation

d) Abstract of the oral presentation

e) An estimation of the traveling expenses prepared by a traveling agency

3. Bursaries for professor

This grant is offered to any African Professor who will participate to the conference. For members of Cameroonian Crystallography Association, a reduction of 50 euros will be made from their registration fees and they can also apply for this bursary. The aim is to find motivated people interested to promote crystallography in one of the developing countries. Applicants must apply for an oral presentation. The documents required for this bursary will be attached in the website during application. These documents include:

a) Curriculum Vitae containing the list of publications

b) Letter of Motivation which describes the research and teaching activities in crystallography in his country and some propositions to promote them.

c) Abstract of the oral presentation
